On Friday 6 December, IBAT College Dublin celebrated the achievements of its students at a graduation ceremony which took place at The Gresham Hotel in Dublin. 88 IBAT students across various courses including BA, MBA and other postgraduate programmes, received recognition from the school in front of academics, family and friends.
Breege O’Donoghue, IBAT Board Member and Doctor of Philosophy delivered the key note address. Breege’s speech took all in attendance on a journey of her education and how education assisted her throughout her career. She congratulated all graduates and assured them that their qualification would benefit them in the future.
Breege was formerly a Primark director, and has won many business awards, due to her esteemed career. Her achievements were recently recognised by the Royal Dublin Society and she was awarded the “Gold Medal for Enterprise” for contributions to the retail sector.
Three students in particular received further recognition. Karine Ribeiro da Rocha received the “Undergraduate Student of the Year Award 2019” from Nitin Gupta, Managing Director at IBAT College Dublin, who presented on behalf of the sponsors, Study & Protect, a specialist educational insurance platform.
Steven Gray received the “Postgraduate Student of the Year Award” from Mary O’Sullivan, Recruitment and Business Manager from sponsor Osborne Recruitment.
Gerard Keating received the “John Murtagh Memorial Award 2019” from Maureen Murtagh, wife of John. Gerard is currently a lecturer at IBAT and teaches financial management.
The John Murtagh Memorial Award is sponsored by IBAT College Dublin in memory of former teaching staff member, John Murtagh, who sadly passed away in 2016.
A huge congratulations to all the students on their outstanding achievement!
