Campus Facilities
Whether you need a desk, a quiet library room or an IT lab, we have the spaces you need to improve your learning, productivity and collaboration.
IT Labs
IT Labs
We have four dedicated IT Labs for you to use across our two campuses. They are equipped with various specialist programs designed for courses including Data Analytics, Desktop Publishing and Programming.
During induction each learner is provided with their own login account for accessing the IBAT College Dublin Learning Portal. Once they log-in the learner can access numerous support services which have been customised specifically for them and their area of study including:
- module selection and notes for all classes.
- a student feedback service for each module that enables immediate feedback to the academic team.
- a forum section containing many threads which range from discussions on areas of study, organising study groups, best reading lists and study material, selling of second hand books and organising social and sporting events within the College.
Via Google Apps the following communication and collaboration services are provided to all registered students:
- Gmail – Providing all learners with 25 gigabytes of storage per account.
- Google Talk – Lecturers and students can call or send instant messages to each other for free.
- Google Calendar – Students can organise their schedules and share events, meetings and entire calendars.
- Google Docs – Provides learners with 25 gigabytes of storage for storing and sharing files 24/7 from any computer inside or outside the college.
The College continually invests in upgrading its IT resources with the latest hardware and software. All workstations have high-speed Internet access with printing facilities. All students have access to these facilities to assist research, enhance knowledge and improve correspondence.
Library
Libraries
Library and information facilities are available for your academic and research requirements. Our two libraries are staffed with skilled and qualified librarians.
In addition to the two campus libraries, all of the electronic resources are available off-campus, 24 hours a day through your student login.
The library collections comprise print texts, e-journals, e-books and online databases.
Library inductions are provided to you whether you are a new or returning student, so you can familiarise yourself with the on-campus and online library facilities.
The librarians are also on-site to teach you how to search and evaluate information, avoid plagiarism, reference correctly and locate material relevant to your studies through Information Literacy Workshops.
